The Volunteer Center, United
Way of Hancock County has as its purpose to foster the commitment of
volunteerism in Findlay and Hancock County.
This mission/purpose
shall be achieved in the following manner:
attracting,
recruiting, and assisting individuals who wish to volunteer their
time and talent;
providing
technical assistance to nonprofit boards through consultation and
trainings;
providing training services on volunteer
programming;
promoting the need for volunteers and
volunteerism;
developing youth programs;
and, developing the financial resources to
obtain the goal of increased volunteer support for non-profit
organizations within Findlay and Hancock County.

Core Competencies:
Connect people with opportunities to
serve
Build the capacity for effective local
volunteering
Promote volunteering
Participate in strategic initiatives
that mobilize volunteers to meet local community needs
Volunteer Center Division of

The Volunteer Center, United
Way of Hancock County shall be a service to all local non-profit
organizations. The Volunteer Center Advisory Committee shall consist of
a Chair, past-Chair Ex-Officio, committee chairs (Boardwalk,
Communications, Day of Caring ad hoc, Funding, Skillsbank ad hoc,
Volunteer Recognition, and three (3) At-Large members (Hancock
Leadership Alumni Association, Findlay Service League and the
community). The Volunteer Center provides partial support for itself
through the pursuit of various grants.
